'5 Broken Cameras' free viewing in Chicago area March 17th
I've seen this documentary and undoubtedly you've heard a lot about it. If you haven't seen it, or heard about it, you should definitely go see it. There is a showing here in the Chicago area followed by a discussion. The documentary chronicles defiant Palestinian resistance in the face of continued Israeli brutality and oppression.

Nominated for an Academy Award For Best Documentary, Five Broken Cameras is the product of years’ worth of resident Emad Burnat’s footage from non-violent popular resistance demonstrations. At noon every Friday, the demonstrations oppose the wall Israel built to separate itself from Arab Palestinians because the wall is on Palestinian land and separates the villagers from their olive groves, most of which were destroyed. Co-directed by Israeli filmmaker Guy Davidi, the film takes the viewer through five years of the life of the village as the popular resistance against the wall begins. Read more about the film here.
